POLYSTYRENE SNOW (Slovakia)
The method of insulating houses and flats with polystyrene is about 55 years old. One of the first houses was insulated in Austria and the polystyrene in this house is still good. Scientists estimate that polystyrene in buildings can last about 100 years.
So what happens to contaminated construction polystyrene at the end of its lifespan? Why do homeowners not use ecological materials, which often have a longer lifespan and will not pollute the environment? And what should be done about the pollution of a building’s surroundings with the artificial “white snow” that is flying everywhere after polystyrene is applied?
